LONDON: SIGNAL GALLERY GROUP SHOW

UPDATE 03/06/12
I have added some photos from this show to the artbleat facebook HERE.
All present apart from C215 who was a no show.

  .......................................................

Just a quick post about the Signal Gallery group show tonight.
Press blurb under the flyer.
Must dash, see you down there?
(Oh! and if you are going down that way, it might pay you to get off the tube at Old St and walk through Hoxton Sq. There may be something going on that I can't mention that will enable you to grab a couple of free beers)
"Over the years, it appears that several of our artists have become inspired by the iconic image of the Panda. In whatever form they emerge, whether as the bear itself or a human figure sporting an animal mask, these works always seem to be a sure-fire hit. So we thought… why don't we ask a large group of artists to pay homage to the Panda and produce an entire exhibition dedicated to the cuddly creatures, resulting in a sell-out, recession-proof show?"
"The fabulous group of artists who are taking part in the show so far include: C215, Dale Grimshaw, Guy Denning, Jef Aerosol, Elinor Evans, Byroglyphics (Russ Mills), SPQR, TRXTR, David Le Fleming, Gaye Black, Frank Rannou, Joram Roukes, Chris Bell and newcomers to Signal; Lora Zombie and Jane Price"

ZHAO: GLOBAL NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

Zhao was all set to release a set of four different colour versions of this print at Highly Framable in Singapore (CMYK versions)
This however looks to have changed.
" zhao has sent us this mail with an update on Global Neighbourhood Watch

zhao:
"i've decided to make each print unique. each print will be in its own colorway. each with different stencil and spray paint elements. I want each to look like prints on very old and decayed walls with hints of old paint smudges from weather and pollution, and marks from previous stencils. sorry to those who wanted the CMYK versions, not making them anymore."
ed of 41 each unique colorways"

I can't say I have a liking for these, after the great The Chairman (Blue Skies) print earlier in the year I was hoping for something a little better, but looking forward to see what Highly Framable can bring to the table next.
